Pinterest Pantomime

Here is today's entry for Pinterest ideas. This is from the lovely Alicia of Virginia Living.
Pinterest Poms

Alicia's Poms
What a great idea for parties and showers! I love that you can customize them for whatever color scheme is going on. Alicia said she has made them for a birthday and a shower. Clever!

The next entry is one Madison and I copied. We love nail polish, and between the two of us, we have quite the collection... (Madison got the new Justin Beiber collection for Christmas, so she has hit the BIG TIME.) We love patterns and fun nail ideas, so we pin pictures all the time. Here is one of our favorites.

My version
I have also been all over the Home side of Pinterest, as we are drawing house plans, and I am in the thinking process. I want to perfect the plan as much as possible before we finalize and go to construction.  I love the ideas I see on Pinterest. The problem is narrowing down! Here are a few of my favorite pins.

Basically, the layout of this room fits the design we are going for.
I love the step down, as well as the fireplace, molding and lighting.

The windows? Swoon.

We like the mixture of dark and light cabinetry.

Well, there you go. What have you "pinned" this week?

Pinterest Pantomime

I am sorry I am a day behind on posts, but in the spirit of effort, lets do Pinterest Friday anyway, huh?
I got a couple of Pinterest Pantomime entries, and I can't wait to show them to you. I hope that these examples will help you get an idea of what I am hoping to create with these posts.
First up, the lovely Skylette of Sequins and Stilettos:

In this Outfit:  White House Black Market Dress

Boden Cardigan

Target Scarf and Tights

Anthropologie Belt

Urban Outfitters Suede Pumps

Next up is a food entry, which I am excited to feature. (I hoped that it would be a range of entries.)  My friend Jen sent this jalapeƱo popper dip that she made for her husband- who proceeded to turn up his nose at it, then eat 3/4 of the pan!

Recipe found here.
The next Pinspiration comes from my own Pinterest boards. I loved the color of this desk, and wanted to refinish a piece of furniture in it for my own house. It turns out, I found the perfect use! I needed a dresser for our guest room, and the color worked great.

I am working on another House Post, so you will have to hold your horses until Thursday to find out more about this room....
I hope you will all send me your Pinspiration ideas for next Friday! (See how fun this is?)

Pin-mitation Friday

I have seen so many cute looks for Christmas on Pinterest.  One of the things I love is the chunky white sweaters.  So I set out to thrift one, and had success last week! It is not exactly the same, but the general feel, right down to the tiny balls in the weave.

Here is my interpretation:
Shirt: J Crew Tartan Plaid
Sweater: American Eagle, thrifted
Jeans: Gap Curvy Boot
Shoes: Stacked Strap Heels, Anthropologie
Necklaces: Old Navy, cheep-cheep
Earrings: Pearl Hoops, Dillards
Watch: J Crew Timex

Would you guys like to start doing "Pin-mitation Friday" with me? I think it would be fun to have more participation for doing the ideas you find on Pinterest. It could be anything- decorating, crafts, style, food, etc....

Pin-mitation Friday (Hey, Only One Day Late!)

I flaked out and completely forgot that yesterday was Friday, and I had done imitation photo's this week. Never mind that I didn't actually wear it anywhere (we'll get to that later).
I picked up my younger kids from school and took them straight to the movie theatre to see Happy Feet 2.  We loved it. They definitely had an agenda with this one (as in the last one) about global warming, but it was still funny, and the music was great! I adore anything penguins. The penguin who stole the show was one of the baby penguins named "Atticus", played by Benjamin Flores Jr, I loved his voice, and hope to see this little boy get more roles.
Wednesday, I took my kids to school, then came back and ate my breakfast, straightened up the house and called my Grandma to see if she wanted to have lunch.  I wanted to re-create a Pinterest find, so I put this together:
Pinterest Look

My Look

I used a J Crew shirt I had thrifted a while back, along with an old F21 sweater, and my Gap boot cut jeans. Overall, I like the Pinterest look better, but I don't have a tie blouse, or a sweater that color, so I have been keeping an eye out for those things.
When I stepped outside to take these photo's, the temperature had dropped, so I went back in and put on long sleeves and a sweater. It ended up dropping flurries all day!  I will have to try this one again!
Shirt: J Crew, thrifted
Sweater: F21, old
Jeans: Gap Boot-cut, free!
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: Anthropologie Trinket Flats
Earrings: Thrifted

Madison says I look mad. This must be the look I give my kids?
I plan to spend the day planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  With all my family coming in to stay with me on the 20th of December, I hope to have my act together and have a stress-free Christmas, a la Clark Griswold? :)
I usually spend the Wednesday before Thanksgiving with my sister. She comes over and we bake pies and set up for Thanksgiving dinner, but since I won't be with her this year, Madison is going to be my little buddy. I hope she follows instructions as well as my sister, I tend to turn into a drill sergeant, when I want everything to be perfect.
What have you done to prepare for the upcoming holidays?

Pin-mitation Friday

I have a confession to make. I am a thief. I totally stole this girl's outfit. Right. Off. Her.
Don't worry, I don't know where most of you live. But, if you put it on the internets, it's mine all mine. (Insert evil laugh.)

Inspiration

I wish I could have worn this exactly the same, with no leggings and a snake skin bag. But my dress is too short for that, and I haven't thrifted an awesome snake skin bag like this awesome chic.

Do I look tired? I AM! Busy week.
