California Dreamin'

A couple of weeks ago, Jay and I snuck away with Little Miss Volleyball and Mr Handsome to San Diego during a short school break. It was a very fast trip, but we packed our time with fun stuff.
We were so thankful to have been invited to stay with the lovely Mechelle and her wonderful family. They were warm and hospitable from the moment we walked in the door. Especially awesome was how well our kids hit it off! I swear the boys were engaged in Wii play in 3.5 seconds.
Mechelle allowed her kids to miss a day of school to spend the day at California Adventure/Disneyland. We packed both parks into one non-stop day, and it was exhausting but fun.

The second day we were there, we took our kids to Coronado while Mechelle's kids went to school, then we met up to head over to La Jolla to the tide pools.  My kids loved it! The evening was topped off by a yummy Mexican dinner and a stop at Fashion Valley. The kids and Jay agreed with me that it was a great trip, and we can't wait to come back!
