Warm Sunday OOTD

Here is the Polyvore for my outfit, but the items are so light you almost get the same effect as the pics!

Warm Sunday
Warm Sunday by deelightfully vintage featuring wrap cardigans

It was VERY cold today for church, and I just could not bring myself to wear a skirt.  I picked these warm, lined pants up at The Loft while shopping with Freda last Saturday (we were supposed to be shopping for her, Shhhhhh!).  I love the texture, with flecks of grey mixed in.
This is my debut of the Midnight's Spring Cardigan, and I loved it. Super comfy, and although there were some negative reviews due to the high waist, I liked it.  The tie was nice and long and flowy too.
Pants: The Loft Equestrian Wool Lean Trousers
Tee: J Crew Tissue Folded Ribbons
Sweater: Anthropologie Midnight's Spring Cardigan
Necklace: Anthropologie Mermaids Rainbow
Shoes: Payless Cream Satin Ballet Flats

Here is my stupid J Crew pose. I think they look ridiculous in the catalog!

Guess What Came Today????? (Plus a bonus!)

Two pretty boxes were on my porch today!
The Refined Cords Shirtdress, and the Midnight Spring Cardigan!
Two out of four, now more waiting....

Now on to two new things I would like to start talking about on this blog: Thrifting and Housewares

Here are a few of this weeks thrifting finds:
Jeans and Volcom shorts for Madison $5

Heavy coat (Lands End) and windbreaker-both look new- for Zach $16

Jay's N.C. finds- Banana Republic shirt, Ralph Lauren shirt (for himself), and a Pendelton flannel for TJ or Cory. $19

Super cute mustard sweater $2

Two J Crew button downs, $8 (but I had a groupon for that store)

The two J Crew shirts farther back...
 And my biggest bonus....
There are SO many little things that I love about my home. I love making a home and I love little details. As much as I love cute clothes, I love to "dress" a room too.  It is a fun hobby to be on the look out for interesting things to add to our home.
On Fridays, I am going to start a feature on home vignettes around my home, and find some interesting things in other places too....
I am starting in my kitchen:

Adorable linen kitchen towels that I found for $1 at a thrift in Hampton

Here is the other one, both $1

One of the glass shelves I designed into our kitchen remodel last summer to showcase my collection of bowls and plates. I received this adorable little plate for Christmas LAST NIGHT from my girlfriend Allie. (She got it at Anthro in DC) Don't you just LOVE it?!

I think cute and vintage home stuff are some of the easiest things to find at thrift stores.  I am very often asked how I thrift. There are so many methods, but my most common way is to really focus on one particular section.  For example, Jay and I hosted Thanksgiving in our home, but I noticed I was severely lacking in the glassware dept. (The glass faeries kept coming and breaking random glasses in the middle of the night.)  So for two weeks, I would pop in and out of the thrift stores and pick up glasses. I collected enough to fill our glass cabinet, and only spent maybe a total of $4-5.  And that includes picking up a few unusual Coca-Cola glasses for TJ (he collects them). Some glasses were only $.19, and some were closer to $.99. Granted, they are not a "set", but I picked similar color families- and I don't prefer sets of things anyway.  While I was in each store, I would audit each dept, by walking through, but not in depth like the glass shelves.
I will talk more about thrifting as we go around my house! ;)
Let me know if this is interesting to you or not.  I hope to spend more of the new year on appreciating the things I have, and using them in new ways, and less on acquiring more.

Anthro Scores (I hope they arrive!)

Refined Cord Shirtdress
Based purely on the recommendation of my fellow bloggers, I bought this dress.
I ordered from NYC, so I could get the extra 25% off, I sure hope it works!
I spent most of the morning Tuesday on the phone with various Anthropologie B&M locations trying to track down some of my wishlisted sale scores. Most were 2nd or more cuts!
Monday Tuesday
In the Heather Crops
I already have these in brown, and LOVE them.
I ordered the grey for $9.95 from Chesnut Hill, MA

Cotton Candy Clouds Cardi
Knitted & Knotted
Cotton Candy Clouds Cardigan
I recieved this as a gift from Jay around my birthday, but it ran very small.
It was fitted in a size small, and too itchy not to wear something under it.  So I returned it for $50 credit in NYC.
I ordered a medium (from Minneapolis), so I can wear a button-down under it for $19.95!
Midnight's Spring Cardigan
Sparrow Midnights Spring Cardigan
This was probably THE steal of the day!
Ordered from Chelsea NYC, so I recieved 25% off the low price of $9.95!
I hope it all comes, since I ordered from so many locations, it is a crap-shoot!  Can't wait to try it all on!

NYC Anthro Haul!

How excited was I to rally from my sick bed week before last- on the day before leaving for New York City! The reason? The Super-Dooper Sale of the Century! Anthro's extra 25% off sale. PLUS, I had my birthday discount to use! That's right. I used BOTH.
My sweet man was kind enough to find a chair and sit patiently holding piles of possibilities (He likes it, I promise!) in not one, but two Anthro locations.  I hit the gorgeous Rockafeller Center location the first day, then tripped down to SoHo, so I could see that store. They are totally different.
All in all, I came away with a boat-load of deals:
Interpretation Chemise: $22.46

Elevenses Emerald Isle Coat: $63.71

Eloise Lunner Lounge tank: $12.72

Floreat Snow Egret Shift: $50.97

Girls from Savoy Vestiges Dress: $22.46!!!!!!

In the Heather Crops (Lounge) in brown: $19.09
And a smock necked brown tee that I CAN'T FIND THE NAME OF! The label is just a bunch of leaves and flowers, so I don't know the brand. Also $19.09!
I have already worn the crops- on the snow day. Call me nothing, if not literal. And I wore the Snowy Egret dress on Christmas Eve.
My mom and dad gave me money to shop with while in NYC, so I wrapped up the coat to myself from my parents, and opened it at our family Christmas, and proceeded to act surprised and excitied.  My mom got a kick out of it. (At least, I tell myself that. She probably thinks I am ridiculous. NO. She loved it. After all, I AM her favorite.)
